A man lived in a left luggage locker in Dusseldorf, Germany for nine years.
Mike Konrad walked out on his girlfriend in 1999 and started sleeping in the 50cm by 60cm locker - the size of two suitcases. He always used locker number 501 and said he had been shut in by prankster kids "more times than I care to remember."
Konrad said the 1.5 Euro locker charge was usually refunded to him in the morning if the door wasn't closed.
Station staff - who frequently had to let the trapped man out of the locker in the mornings - eventually prosecuted Konrad after ejecting him from the locker for the 200th time. He was sentenced to nine months of sleeping in an altogether bigger box - jail.
more times than I care to remember.
