A Swedish magazine has apologised after printing a recipe which poisoned four people.
Ten thousand copies of food magazine 'Matmagasinet' were recalled following the error.
Chief editor Ulla Cocke said: "There was a mistake in a recipe for apple cake. Instead of calling for two pinches of nutmeg it said 20 nutmeg nuts were needed."
Editors sent letters to 50,000 subscribers and put a leaflet inside copies sold in shops, cautioning against using too much nutmeg.
There was a mistake in a recipe for apple cake. Instead of calling for two pinches of nutmeg it said 20 nutmeg nuts were needed.
Cocke added: "At first we thought this would be enough, we didn't think anyone would bake or eat this cake, so much nutmeg would give it a horrible, bitter taste, and it is not that easy to get hold of so much nutmeg."
The people who suffered poisoning symptoms are said to have now recovered.
