hi Racoon are simply the best...i have been having mine since feb now...they last me between 8 and 12 weeks....they are fab....look stunning and are not so much high maintenance as everyone says....they take longer to dry thats it....and trips to the salon take longer. but having hair looking so good is worth it! never regret getting mine, worth every penny. dont hesitate to go ahead and get them! xx

i got human hair extenisions about 2 months ago. they were fine at first and did look good but they shed like crazy.also the first night u cant sleep cos it hurts ur hair because of the bonds. u have to get them topped up every couple of weeks which starts to get expensive, but if you dont they look soo fake. i went to take them out on a saturday night and could get the hair out but not the glue. it was extremly painfull and made me cry and get stressed. i tried again sunday morning but still had no luck. i had to make a hair dressers appointment and it cost me nearly fourty pound to have them removed. Listen girls be haopy with the way your hair looks because if this stops one person having them put in it will be worth it as i wudnt want people going through the same pain i did. ALSO NOTE I HAD THEM PUT IN AT A WELL KNOWN SALON. ID GO FOR CLIP INS ! MUCH LESS STRESS AND MAINTENCE FREE!!! GOOOD LUCK X X

HI GIRLS,

here is my 10 cents worth,

I trained in hair extensions and then worked at Lucinda Ellery The Consultancy, Europe's largest hair extensions studio.

There is sooo much to take into account when thinking of having extenisions.

The reason your having extensions? The length? The volume of extensions you have in. The texture of the extensions? Is it cost effective for you>?


At the end of the day we all know of hair extension disasters, but people are always suprised when they dont realise someone is wearing extensions.

You dont want to have extensions if it will ruin your own hair.

I would never do a set of extensions on hair that looks like it is vulnerable to breakage and not looked after properly. I have turned prospective clients away due to this and will continue to.

Application of the extensions is an important factor the weight ratio for your hair and each bond.

Thde removal of extensions more so important than the application !!!!Especially when acetone is envolved as it makes the adhesives turn sticky causing breakage to your hair.

It took me 9 months to find a product that I believe removes extensions causing no damage to the hair.

heres some things to keep in mind when choosing the hair!!!


If its such great quality hair why is it coated in silicone? the answer to give the illusion that the hair is a better quality hair than it really is!

oh and watch for the word Euro!! when a company uses the term "euro hair" this does not mean its european hair, its a loopwhole that fools you in to thinking its European hair.

Remy hair, I love this one, Basically REMY is an old wigmaking term meaning that the hair is double drawn and cuticle correct. it means nothing more then that. I know this from working with an oldschool wigmaker.

When people say Remy hair is the best, what makes it better then any other hair?

The best hair is one that is cuticle correct and matches your hairs natural texture. Thats the best hair for you, when sourcing hair for your extensions.

every batch of hair comes from a different source.

Remy does not mean that the hair is double drawn at all. Remy means the hair still has the cuticle intact so get your facts straigh before you start sprouting off with your verbal diahorrea.

no its not another plug for my website.

As for getting my facts straight, spending 3 months doing work experiance in one of the worlds most renowned wigmakers, the term Remy means exactly what I said it did. The word Remy has been used by wigmakers and hair merchants for generations, its only the last 30 years where the hair extensions market has evolved and all different companies use different terminology.

and as for advertisment, I already advertise on the net thanks, and 98 percent of my custome is word of mouth.

My reason for posting is the fact that i have non industry people calling me up asking me about hair, and extensions, believe just what they are told.

I have had both great lengths and racoon extensions and can say without shadow of a doubt that great lengths are/were by far the best and far superior.

The racoon hair was too high maintenance, too heavy and very unrealistic .... I couldnt even run my hands through it. The bonds were large and uncomfy, very jaggy and to me, very noticeable, not good considering I had them in for my wedding !!!!!!!!!!!

The great lengths had no downside, from start to finish (3months) they were a dream, looked amazing, felt amazing and were just ace. They required little maintenance and basically were just wash n go, minimal styling etc, it was like having my natural hair, plus the bonds were sooooooo small !!!!!!!!!!

The racoon hair cost me £300 for a full head, the great lengths cost me £700 for a full head but was definately well worth it. Both those costs included cuts, colours, supplies etc.

Gimme great lengths any day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
