Musicial and soul Singer Jamie Liddell made his mark on the music industry with his albums Multiply and Multiply Additions.
Now two years after his last album release Jamie is back with his new record Jim I caught up with his to discuss the new album and his career so far.
Ten nuggets of fat free, vitamin enriched, gold pop gems like a chocolate box of delicate treats.
Better in any way (laughs) more tasty, its better for you and it will make you look good and make you popular. I dont know its very different, it was recorded in a totally different way, I recorded it in Los Angeles and it was all recorded very quickly all together in one block, Multiply took three years it was very spawling, this one is much more contained. Its much more like a classic album I just wanted it to be songs simple songs the songs took control after a while and thats all it is.
First of all I always used to record on my own and the first sort of change was I realised that I wanted to work with a lot of people and so I have been collaborating, very closely, with the guy called Mocky in Berlin, I have been living in Berlin of about ten years.
We recorded it all on wooden instruments, in the beginning we wrote everything first very merticulsoly we took a very old school attitude of quality control like is it good enough? Where is the bridge? Lets hear the chorus and it was a very methodical process, seeing if it was water tight and once we were nodding in a slow and unified way we would think good we can take this to the next stage and record it.
That was really the first time I had ever done that, as ridiculous as that seems, really putting in the work ahead of time, chopping the vegetables properly before cooking them, a lot of preparation on this one.
