Opening Cannes is Blindness by Fernando Meirelles, Brazilian director who brought us City of God, starring Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo and Sandra Oh.

It has become a tradition that high profile blockbusters have been launched at the festival with the likes of Da Vinci Code and Ocean's 13 all being premiered during the eleven day event.

And this year is no different as one of the most anticipated movie events of the year Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will get it's first showing at the Grand Theatre Lumiere on Sunday with Steven Spielberg, producer George Lucas and star Harrison Ford in attendance.
