No-one is spared when it comes to tell all books written by various women connected with the Hip-hop industry. First it was Karrine Steffans who has written not just one but two books about her experiences within the Hip-Hop world, then the mother of Nas’s daughter gave up her story, now is the time for the dirt to be dished on rapper Mos Def.
Mos Def, one half of the legendary Black Star has been tarred as violent and abusive by Alana Wyatt-Smith who penned Breaking the Code of Silence who is by law still married to the rapper after they tied the knot after only three days of knowing each other back in 2005.
Wyatt-Smith also mentions other celebs in her book with whom she had relationships, including Kanye West.
With this is his last album on his current Def Jam contract where he has resided since 1987, rapper LL Cool J blames his lack of a platinum selling album in ten years on his successful career in TV and films.
Now as he gears up to release Exit 13, the Queens icon who has called on artists such as Wyclef Jean, Lil Kim, Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi) to assist him on this album, LL Cool J born Todd Smith believes this album has the potential to fill the void which he hasn’t achieved over the last decade.
Exit 13 will be released on August 26th and LL Cool J has implied that as Def Jam is now being run by Shakir Stewart, it might not be the end of an era for the rapper at the original Hip-Hop label when the contract runs out.
