Customer Reviews: Simply the best !!!!!!!!!!!!! November 16, 2005 35 out of 36 found this review helpful
As a big fan of Jethro's, I have been sorely disappointed in his last 2 offerings. Old jokes, old routines, not good value at all. If you see him live, you will appreciate what this funny guy is capable of .............. BUT WAIT .......... Jethro In Cloud Cuckoo Land puts him right back on the top shelf. The gags are brilliant, Jethro commands the stage and commands belly laughs from every single gag and story! I have seen him live twice this year - but over half the jokes are new to me. BRILLIANT. The sketches are far better than the last effort - I loved the Vicar and the Penguins routine ........... bring on the TANK, funny guy! If you want to take yourself away from the stresses of this world, buy this DVD now!!!!! I know what I'm going to be giving away as presents this year! Well done Jethro - 'you tosser you'. Looking forward to next years already!!!!!
Has Good Moments December 10, 2008 DL Productions UK (Merseyside, UK) I discovered Jethro when I was in college, a friend of mine showed me a video - he was funny and I liked his stage presence, the way he kept laughing at himself and giving us that St Just accent just used to crease me up.
This DVD is 55 minutes of Jethro doing his stand up show, with snippits of him chatting to his mates and joking. There's some funny gags here, but at times it does loose the funnies. Jethro does have a great way of telling jokes and his jokes reminds me of Dusty Young and in a way Tim Vine, quick jokes, that usually involve his pal Denzel, and his wife.
This is a good laugh, but 55 minutes is just a bit off -- could have done with being longer or more extras, and the off stage stuff is not as good as his stage work. Plus there are no songs that Jethro does on stage.
Definitely not his best DVD, but still good comedy.
Smutty Rubbish December 30, 2005 8 out of 15 found this review helpful
In the early '90s Jethro was funny with a refreshingly simple style of humour.Since then he has gone downhill, but the advert on TV at Christmas with the joke about the fishcake made me think that he was back to best. How wrong, the first 5 minutes were slightly amusing, but then he goes back into a theme centered around his sexual exploits which just isn't funny, particulary from a rotund Cornishman. To summarise - a waste of money.
