Angela Wynter's 'EastEnders' blast

2 months ago 01st Jul 13:00

Angela Wynter has hit out at 'EastEnders' bosses after being axed from the show.

The 54-year-old actress, who has played Yolande Trueman for five years, has blasted the "weak" storylines that have apparently led to show chiefs running out of ideas for her character.

She said: "I'm not unhappy to leave as life is about changes, but I'm unhappy about the reasons as you can always write stories for people to act.

"As I told my boss, I am pleased with the work I did playing Yolande because I made her as believable as possible.

I'm not unhappy to leave as life is about changes, but I'm unhappy about the reasons as you can always write stories for people to act.

"If it has to end, let it be on a good note rather than the character becoming weak due to the producers."

Angela - who will last be seen on screen in the autumn - said she isn't allowed to reveal how her character leaves the long-running soap but added: "If I do return, I won't be coming back as a ghost."

Rudolph Walker, who plays Yolande's husband Patrick, is staying in the show.
