'The Apprentice' winner Lee McQueen called in sick yesterday (01.07.08) on the first day of his new job working for Sir Alan Sugar.
The 30-year-old reportedly left his new boss furious after calling in to say he felt ill, one day after returning from his holiday in Spain.
A source revealed: "This will make Sir Alan really cross because he hates being let down. Lee was really keen to start work but he felt he wasn't up to it and had to stay at home."
Lee beat 15 contestants in the hit BBC1 show to land a £100,000-a-year job helping develop digital advertising display screens.

An Amshold company spokesperson said: "Lee is at home with a virus. He'll be at work as soon as he is well."
Meanwhile, Sir Alan has stepped down as chairman of Amstrad.
The tycoon says he has been planning the move since the company was acquired by Sky in 2007 but stressed he is not retiring.
