'Dancing on Ice' bosses have reportedly axed eight professional skaters in a bid to freshen up the show.
Producers want new faces to partner with celebrities signed up for the eighth series - which will start in January 2013 - rumoured to include Pamela Anderson, Anthea Turner, 'Coronation Street's Samia Ghadie, former 'EastEnders' actor Matt Lapinskas, Beth Tweddle, 'The Only Way is Essex' star Lauren Goodger, rugby player Gareth Thomas, singer Dionne Bromfield and comic Joe Pasquale.
Exiting from the series will be professionals Frankie Poultney, Nina Ulanova, Matt Gonzalez, Brooke Castile, Jodeyne Higgins, Sean Rice, Lukasz Rozycki and Alexandra Schauman.
A show source told The Sun newspaper: "Dancing On Ice is heading for its best year ever. Every single aspect is being improved."
The judging panel will include Hayley Tamaddon and Robin Cousins, as well as seeing the return of Jason Gardiner who sat on the panel from when the ice skating extravaganza began in 2006 before being replaced by Louie Spence earlier this year.
Speaking of his return, he said: "I'm really excited to announce that I am returning to 'Dancing on Ice'. It's amazing being part of this show."
He also wrote on Twitter: "It's been hard to keep this quiet until it was official but YES Tweeps I'm back on @DOI. Thanks to all who have supported me all the way xx (sic)"
New skaters on the show will include Robin Johnstone, Jenna Harrison, Andy Buchanan, Olga Sharutenko and Michael Zenezini.
