Leandro Penna has signed up for Tom Daley's celebrity diving show 'Splash!'.
The Argentine model - who started dating 34-year-old TV star Katie Price in February, but they split in October - has already started training for the programme, which will see celebrities coached by the Olympic bronze medallist before a panel of experts give their views on the stars' weekly dives.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: "Leandro can't wait to get started on the new show.
"He has decided to make a life for himself in Britain despite his split from Katie Price. He has thrown himself into training and picked up a few knocks. He wants viewers to see a new side to him and that he is more than just an ex of Katie's."
Leandro is currently sporting a protective cast on his leg after picking up an injury during training for the show, which ex-Olympic ski jumper Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards has also signed up for.
Tom and Leandro enjoyed a "fun" night out in London on Saturday (08.12.12) with 'Glee' star Matthew Morrison and 'Son of Rambow' actor Will Poulter.
Posting a picture of the 'Splash!' pair on his Instagram account, the 18-year-old Olympian wrote: "Fun night last night with mi amigo @Leandro__Penna :) (sic)"
But Leandro's appearance on the celebrity diving show is not thought to have gone down well with Katie, whose ex Alex Reid went on to win 'Celebrity Big Brother' in 2010.
One friend said: "Leandro is just the latest to use her name to get fame for themselves.
"The fear is producers will use his connection to goad her and cause her discomfort."
Her friend Phil Turner also took to his Twitter account to voice his frustrations.
He wrote: "Why is every production company obsessed with @MissKatiePrice x's and puts them in shows!!!! There not celebs!! There xxxxx's#sad. (sic)"
