'Daybreak' has made Aled Jones an "unlikely sex symbol".

The 41-year-old presenter's new role hosting the ITV1 breakfast show alongside Lorraine Kelly has afforded him hordes of new female fans and he thinks the pair's natural chemistry is slowly winning over skeptics of the show.

Aled - who shot to fame age 12 singing the theme tune to animated film 'The Snowman' - enthused: "Aled Jones is becoming my secret crush', this woman said. I'm an unlikely sex symbol apparently! Someone said I looked like I'd eaten the snowman. But I feel great now.

"I love coming into work every morning. I don't want to sound cheesy but Lorraine and I get on so well, were so relaxed together, and we have a great laugh, sometimes too much so."

Following a rocky start in September, the singing sensation has learnt to develop thick skin and is "proud" of the breakfast show, especially since the response from the public is growing stronger every day.

Aled told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I love the challenge. I'm proud of the show and the way Lorraine and I work together. When things changes people take a while to come round to the new format.

"I expected the negative comments but I've got thick skin and I work hard at getting better all the time. Now more and more people are tweeting us every morning, saying they love the show. Who knows, I might even end up a likely sex symbol!"
